Eventi : Red Bull X-Fighters Madrid
21-lug-2005 - 21-lug-2005, Spain / Madrid / Las VentasThe Red Bull X-Fighters are gearing up to perform spectacular aerial acrobatics for the second time this year: on July 21 they’ll turn Madrid’s Las Ventas arena into a boiling pot.

Red Bull X-Fighters know how to party – as they last proved on April 22 in Mexico City: with their back flips, Supermans and other show-stopping stunts, the FMX stars transformed the arena of the toreros into an arena of the motoreros. The life of the party was Ronnie Renner, who ruled the air above the sold-out Monumental Plaza de Toros and was celebrated by 42,000 fans into the wee hours of the morning.

You can expect no less on July 21 in Madrid. Again, the best freestyle motocross riders in the world have been assembled: Ronnie Renner, last year’s champ Travis Pastrana, two-time X-Fighters champ Kenny Bartram and local hero Edgar Torronteras. Again, the bullfighting ring will be packed out (with 23,000 fans). And again, the FMX stars – there will be twelve of them in Madrid – will perform aerial acrobatics of the highest quality with tricks like the Kiss of Death, No Hander, Can Can and Nac Nac. The adequate location for all this: Las Ventas, the largest bullfighting ring by surface area in the world.

3 New Entrants, 3rd Job

For the fourth time, Madrid will host Europe’s largest FMX event. For the first time, three new motoreros will take to the air in Las Ventas: Eigo Sato, the first Japanese in the X-Fighters family; Mathieu “Swiss Air” Rebeaud, world record holder in “Highest Air” with eleven meters; and Robbie “Maddo” Maddison, two-time world record holder in ramp jump. The Australian sailed close to 246 feet (ca. 75 m) this past May while performing a Superman Seat Grab on his 250cc bike at the Crusty Demons Night of World Records. And on his 125cc bike, he flew over 221 feet (ca. 67 m).

FMX legend “Mad” Mike Jones is also making his debut – but with his third job with the Red Bull X-Fighters. After an active career as an X-Fighter (Mike won the first event in Valencia in 2001) and a second stint as a judge (Madrid 2004, Mexico City 2005), now he is reaching for the microphone. Mad Mike will field questions as a journalist during the live internet broadcast (
